We’re Not in Kansas Anymore

Here are some pics of the various animals on parade from Charlie’s point of view. You would not believe how exotic some of them were!! A few times we wondered if the animal activists knew about this place! The poor kangaroos were huddled in the sunlight for warmth. We felt so sad for them.

Alpaca’s…..
A Giraffe! Can you believe that????!!!!!

Pumpkins on Parade

Yesterday, Charlie and I spent the day out in South Barrington at Goebbert’s Pumpkin Patch. Not only is the place massive in size, but they have quite an interesting array of wild animals in their “petting” zoo (I use the word “petting” loosely as some of the animals could probably eat you for breakfast) and delicious goodies to eat and take home with you.

Here are some pics of Charlie and her good friend, Tad Collett. It was really chilly and windy, and poor Charlie had no proper hat. Not only that, but Mommy forgot the sippy. *Sigh*
You can check out Goebbert’s at: http://www.pumpkinfarms.com/

Spooooooky

Charlie wore her new spooky Halloween dress to church today. Yes, there is a witch on it, but at least she is a friendly witch….

We also practiced some “assisted” walking. Emilyn’s Mommy told me that one day Emilyn just decided she was ready, and that was that….Hmmm. I have to admit, I’m getting a little skeptical that she’ll be walking anytime soon. What I can say is that Charlie is a lot more willing to do this these days, so maybe she’s thinking about it….

One last little thing. Tonight as we were getting Charlie ready for bed she was playing with the plastic bottle that came with her newborn Cabbage Patch kid. She was trying to feed it to me, which was cute enough on it’s own…but then when we set Virginia Emilia, the CPK (or Virg, as she will now be called) in front of her….well, the rest is cuteness history. How is it that a 13 1/2 month old child knows instinctively how to feed a “baby”?? That, and she’s also learning how to give kisses, to adults and cats alike. She will look up at you with what can only be called “the stare” and nod her head towards you. Once you touch foreheads, she gives a little giggle. And she’ll do this over and over. Tonight, I actually witnessed her do this with Virg, and when she pulled away, her lips made a little smacking sound. Her first real kiss!! One for the books.

Model Behavior

Yesterday, I attempted to get a good shot of Charlie to submit to Gap’s “Casting Call” contest. The winner appears in national Gap ads and also receives a Babygap wardrobe, so that alone deserves a submission, in my humble opinion!

Charlie is sporting this darling “Treehouse” yoga set from last year, that I happened to find on clearance for $15 or something crazy at the time. Sadly, didn’t get “the” perfect shot this time. I need to see some teeth!!!!

Will you just humor me??

I know that 90% of the people who read this blog may not find this post the MOST interesting, but I am such a sucker for seasonal clothing for the girlie. Never thought I would be, hey, I’ve seen a lot of Christmas sweaters in my day, but somehow….well, I’ve succumbed. Bring on the festive sweaters, pajamas, all of it!!!! It’s just so much cuter on the little ones. So in that vein, I will be posting the random seasonal things I find.

These first few sweet things are all from Baby Gap. Don’t ask me how, but I might have figured out a way to look ahead and see what BG has in store for us…..
