Yogini

So cool…Last night, while playing in the nursery, Charlie had her first taste of gravity. That’s right, she stood up, in the middle of the floor, and took one step. She’s been doing a “downward dog” pose for a few days (no, she didn’t learn it from me–that’s a tough one!) and last night she simply pulled up to standing, in the middle of the floor, holding onto nothing. It was awesome!!

In that suspended moment of animation, we both froze and then I started clapping and screaming, which caused her to break into a huge grin and do the same. Needless to say, she was pretty darn proud of herself. After that, she fell on her butt, but then pulled back up three more times.

What a fantastic moment for our little girlie!!

O Baby!

….So, a lot of you know that when I got pregnant my old agent told me to call her when Charlie was born. She ended up hooking us up at Ford and she’s been doing print work ever since. Last year she did a shoot for Oprah’s “O Baby” Store, and I had completely forgotten about it! Often times the timing is never given on these kind of jobs, so it’s hard to know when something will show up. I can’t believe how chunky our little girl was at the time!

Hawaii or Bust

So if you can’t sleep and are still up and surfing other people’s blogs, like I am, you might notice that our background has changed to a tropical paradise! It’s because Daddy and I leave for Waikiki on February 1st. *Sigh* Charlie is taking a little trip back to Mimi and Poppy’s and Mommy is looking forward to a little sun….and finishing off her “Twilight” collection.

Whaaaat?? Books about teenage vampires?? Mmmm….yes….it does appear that Mommy is a bit hooked.

Ah well. That’s what vacation is all about, right?

Countdown: T-Minus 31 days……

Kickin’ it into 2009

Ok, so this isn’t a real time pic, obviously, but it’s 10 minutes until midnight, Eastern time. Daddy and I needed a low key New Year’s this year. After all the travelling, we wanted to watch the ball drop over a little sushi and champagne. In our pajama’s, of course.

I really don’t know what I will do when Daddy goes back to work next week. It’s so much more fun staying in your pajama’s WITH someone BESIDES your 16 month old.

16 MONTHS! HOLY COW! Happy 16 months, Charlie!

And Happy New Year, Y’all!!!

Zoolights!!

Last Monday night, after safely arriving back home, we met the Jernigan’s for a little “Zoolights” action at the Lincoln Park Zoo. I’m ashamed to say that after 8 years of living in the city, I have never been!! The kids loved it, but it was COLD!! We were incredibly under-dressed, so we danced to stay warm….

Goodbye North Pole!!

And now we come back to the start. Our final exercise in Texas was to shoot some pictures of Dali, Charlie, and Owen in their festive Christmas ware, sent by Great Aunt Issy. This was no easy task!! Getting all three of them to focus was a huge undertaking, but we managed.

Christmas was so fun and we are really thankful for Mimi and Poppy’s amazing hospitality and generosity. It always goes by too fast!! Charlie misses her cousins already! We’ll have to come down to Comfort for a visit soon….
