Old McCharlie had a Farm

Yesterday, Charlie had a ball playing with her new “Fridge Farm” from Leapfrog. Mommy saw this at someone else’s house. We thought it might really be helpful to keep the girlie entertained while the adult in the room is trying to be productive, a.k.a. clear out the pantry (or as we call it, public storage). As you can see, the plan worked. Mwaaaahaha…..Don’t have a cow, Charlie, it’s for your own good!

Also, in homage to our introverted cat, Allie (can you pay homage to someone/something that is still alive?) Charlie is sporting one of her new Halloween tee’s. This one Daddy surprised her with on her return from Texas. We decided that Halloween is kinda like Allie’s cotillion. She’s everywhere these days! How many black cats have you seen on children’s clothes lately? Charlie has three tee’s and one dress that sport her kitty sister. Siena, not to be outdone, is planning her revenge.

Speaking of Halloween, Mommy had big plans for Charlie’s original costume, but alas, it appears to be TMW, a.k.a. TOO MUCH WORK. At least for this year. So, we made a stop at Babies R’ Us and found (quite possibly) the most insanely funny costume known to baby. Stay tuned for those hilarious pics….

I Love the 80’s

Today was a pretty lazy day, although Charlie did pay a visit to her friends, the Jernigan boys. It’s so fun having playmates right around the corner….it will especially be nice when it gets cold and we need a little company to make the day go by faster.

I had to get a shot of Charlie in this wonderfully cute outfit from Old Navy. It was a birthday gift from Ms. Jenn and Mr. Matt, and it is so stinkin’ sweet on….especially with the pink chucks. Love it!!

“It’s like finding it in the garbage!”

I have been looking for these Baby Gap fleece pj’s forever, with no luck. This year’s pair retails for almost $30, so I thought that I could find a decent pair for less on ebay. No luck!! However, Ms. Marla led us to an adorable children’s resale shop in Frisco called “Cutie Patootie” and guess what was there:

$4.99, my friends. $4.99. Unbelievable! Daddy always says, “It’s like finding it in the garbage!”, meaning, “Good job, Mommy. You are so thrifty and wise with money.”

The Best Saturday Ever

We couldn’t be happier with these pics from our Saturday shoot with Leigh Wilcoxson. Isn’t she a talented lady?? I’m so happy that we were able to get this shot of Charlie with the pumpkins behind her. The colors are so rich, and to echo the sentiments of Leigh on her blog, now I too have a ridiculous craving for pumpkin bread!!

For more pics from Saturday, check out Leigh’s blog:

If you live in the Chicagoland area, we HIGHLY recommend her!!!!!!

Brunch at Egg Harbor

What an awesome day. After the shoot we had brunch at this yummy cafe called “Egg Harbor”. Remember those posts about Charlie’s eating issues awhile back? Well, we can safely say that Charlie no longer has problems eating. She mowed through her blueberry pancakes with the finesse of a pie-eating contest winner.

After brunch we ran some errands so the girl could snooze in her car seat. It was a gorgeous day and I was so happy to spend time with my little family before Daddy left today. Charlie’s grandfather, JJ, lost his Mommy last week. Daddy is going to Tennessee to attend the funeral and spend time with the family. We hope that Charlie always knows how great it was that Lila and P.A. were married for over 60 years!! What an amazing accomplishment for two very fine people who loved the Lord and are together again in Eternity.

Fall is in the air….

Yesterday we drove out to Lake Forest to have a “family” photo shoot with our favorite photog, Leigh Wilcoxson. It was a beautiful fall morning…just cool enough to wear a jacket or a sweater. I think we got some amazing shots….Charlie hung in for about an hour before she got fussy!

This outfit is pretty much head-to-toe Baby Gap, the Boho Butterfly line. It was PERFECT for the day. Love the corduroy and the rich colors. Charlie looked like a doll in it!

BFF

Here are some great pics of Kelly and Charlie enjoying their last day together! They really had a blast….this visit was the first time they could actually “play” and interact, and it was so fun to see. Mommy feels a bit homesick today (big surprise) and can’t wait to someday be closer to Ms. Marla and Kelly so they can do things like this more often.

Thanks, Ms. Marla and Mr. Scott! We had such a wonderful time and it was so nice to spread out and have some space! We can’t wait to see you again in February…..We miss Kelly already!!!!
